Renovations of the new facility are almost complete. We expect to be open for business by August 14th. In the meantime, we are still seeing clients for evaluations and lessons at outside locations. There will still be some work to be done after the opening date, but we should be fully operational and ready to play! Here are a few of the new amenities:
A very large yard area for the dogs to play in: There is an escape proof yard attatched to the kennels so that the dogs that are staying with us have a safe place to romp and play. A seperate yard will be used for lessons and supervised play time.
A separate kennel building with built in kennels and suites: The kennels are under construction as we speak, but probably won't be done until November :( . In the meantime, we will be using large dog crates and frequent outings and playtimes to accomodate boarding dogs. When the kennels are installed, there will be 11 luxury kennels and suites that can accomodate up to 15 dog in a relaxing and comfortable environment. The trainer is living on site at the new facility, so the dogs won’t be left alone through the night.
An isolated training and evaluation space: The office and training room is isolated from the kennels, the yards, and the rest of the house which will allow for a low distraction training environment.
A home environment for realistic training: Since the Cool Dog trainer lives on site, the house will provide a perfect environment for working with board and train dogs on manners and behavior problems. Many of the boarding dogs will also get breaks from their busy play schedules to hang out in the house and just chill.
Great parks and walking trails nearby for outings: There are a few really cool parks nearby that we will plan on making frequent use of for dog outings. Commons Ford Park is near Bee Caves and Cuernavaca and offers beautiful trails for hiking, huge fields to play fetch in, and the lake for swimming. The neighborhood park at the north end of Cuernavaca also has some great swimming spots for both dogs and people.
